Dr. Nawaz has received most of his training in Texas. He graduated from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center after completing his Internal Medicine residency training. His sub-specialty training in invasive cardiology was from Texas A&M University. Dr. Nawaz has also completed advance fellowship training in the field of Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology from one of the premiere cardiac transplant institutions in the Midwest, the University of Wisconsin. He will be one of the few UNOS certified cardiac transplant physician in North Texas. He currently serves as the Medical Director for the Heart Failure Clinic at Medical Center of Plano. He is also the Chairman of Cardiology at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco. Dr.Nawaz has been widely published in the premiere cardiology journals, presenting in national cardiology meetings and has received the National Research Award (NRSA), an NIH sponsored training grant in Translational Cardiovascular Research. |
